"The passion across the French wine industry can cultivate an extraordinary market"
Vitruvin is a branding, marketing and promotion consultancy dedicated to help increase French wine exports in volume and value. As a specialist wine marketing consultancy focusing solely to partner with French wine producers and merchants, Vitruvin works for long-term strategic solutions to increase wine sales in international markets. Created to provide an edge for French wines competing against the proliferation of international brands, the consultancy was born from a passion and belief that French wine should be at the forefront of the industry in taste, values and traditions.
Vitruvin was founded in the summer of 2010 by Edinburgh born international wine marketing professional David Simpson. After taking the decision in 2007 to relocate to Bordeaux in France, David began an intensive education of wine and its international branding, marketing and promotion, resulting in a specialist International Wine Marketing MBA degree. With a background of over 10 years experience in finance and marketing, including a four year Masters degree in International Business, the decision was taken to follow a passion for a unique product and build a career in the wine industry.

Why the name Vitruvin? Vitruvin is a compound of Da Vinci's drawing The Vitruvian Man and of course wine or vin. Vitruvius was an ancient architect who depicted the human form as having the perfect proportions, just as wine balances complex aromas and flavours. But of course to reach the consumer, wine must also be in equilibrium with branding, marketing and promotion!
"Wine is more than a drink, wine is a philosophy, but it is also poorly marketed"
